Stanley R. Woodland
President / CEO

Stan began his career more than 30 years ago doing communications research with MediaChek. Stan moved on to SmithKline Beecham and directed their customer targeting, communications research and internal media planning activities. After leaving SmithKline Beecham in 1988 Stan formed Communications Media, Inc., as an external media planning and buying organization in order to serve SB and other pharmaceutical clients. Stan soon realized the vast differences between media planning and buying. In 1991 Compas, Inc. was spun off from CMI in order to allow 100% concentration in planning, while developing an industry changing media buying business model with Compas.

Kenneth H. Jones
Executive Vice President, General Manager

Ken has collected over 20 years of Pharmaceutical Marketing, Publishing and Targeted Media experience. Relevant experience includes the development of break through targeted media services, one of which is the Medi-Scripts prescription advertising service of Medi-Promotions. Ken was also instrumental in the sales and publishing of the American Medical Associations JAMA and American Medical News Advertising Publications. Ken began in sales and Marketing with Bayer Corporation. He is responsible for the management of CMI and Compas, Inc.

Frederick C. Foard
Executive Vice President, Media Operations

Fred holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Capital University and a BA in Psychology from Lincoln University. Relevant experiences include time with SmithKline Beecham, Advanced Communication Strategies, Warren-Teed Pharmaceuticals, Bristol Labs and Schering-Plough. Fred brings an experience of pharmaceutical marketing insight to CMI that spans over 25 years. As Dyazide product manager for SmithKline Beecham, Fred has been credited with growing the product from a 2nd tier antihypertensive to market leader after patent expiration, as well as developing a successful defense against generic erosion. As Director of Marketing Communications at SKB, he presided over internal agencies and was responsible for managing outside agencies. Fred also is experienced in the current practices of ethnic marketing, and has worked as an ethnic marketing consultant. Fred's roles involve the day to day management of all CMI locations, staff training and consulting in addition to creative planning.

Robert A. Girondi
Executive Vice President, Marketing & Research


Bob has more than 30 years experience on the manufacturer, agency, and service sides of the pharmaceutical business. Prior to joining CMI, his experience included employment with Wyeth, Stuart, ICI Pharma, the Dorland Agency, HCI, AstraMerck, Astra, and AstraZeneca. During that time, his various responsibilities encompassed advertising, marketing, and media management; product management; agency and media relations; as well as therapeutic area and business unit leadership…across an array of therapeutic areas. His active industry participation with PhRMA, the HMCC, the American Marketing Association, the DMA Pharmaceutical Marketing Council, the ANA Agency Relations and TV Committees, and the Editorial Advisory Board of Medical Marketing & Media has enhanced his in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical and related healthcare business. Bob’s continued involvement as an MBA-level educator at the Temple University Fox Business School keeps his academic knowledge in synch with his industry experience…to the benefit of our clients. He holds an MBA from Drexel University and a BS in Business from Villanova University.

Terry E. Goldston
Executive Director, New Business Development


Terry began her career with CMI/Compas in June 2006, with extensive experience in the healthcare and pharmaceuticals industries ranging from sales, sales training and brand management to advertising, promotion, procurement and marketing assignments both in the United States and Europe. During 15 years with GlaxoSmithKline, Terry led the Promotion Management Division that delivered promotional services and support to the U.S. Brand and Managed Care Marketing businesses on strategy, time and within budget. On special assignment for three years, Terry rationalized and negotiated creative fees for advertising, promotion and public relations services throughout continental Europe for both the pharmaceuticals and consumer businesses. Her current responsibilities include new client acquisition and new product development as well as customer satisfaction and retention.

Paulette McCarron
Senior Vice President, Media Services (CMI/New York)


Paulette has been with CMI for nine years. She currently oversees our New York City offices that service Procter & Gamble, Boehringer Ingelheim, and AstraZeneca. Her relevant experience includes time with Harrison & Star; Dorritie & Lyons; and Kallir, Phillips, and Ross agencies. Paulette has developed CMI's research model training packages, and is a former treasurer of the Association of Healthcare Medical Directors. She received the HBA "Rising Star" award in 2006.

Julie Mezrow
Vice President, Media Services (CMI/King of Prussia)


Julie joined CMI in 2000 as Media Account Director for our CMI/PA (King of Prussia) offices. She came to us as an experienced media supervisor and trainer from the consumer advertising marketplace. Julie began her career at Saatchi & Saatchi in New York City, followed by the Cramer-Krasselt ad agency in Milwaukee, WI, where she was a Media Supervisor responsible for accounts in markets as diverse as building products, men's shoes, breakfast foods, and health care diagnostics. Julie currently manages all three of CMI's King of Prussia locations and is also the Dean of both CMI University and the CMI University Graduate School. Julie received the HBA "Rising Star" Award in 2003.

Alya Sherman
Executive Director, Media Strategies (CMI/Philadelphia)

Alya joined CMI in 2003 as Associate Media Account Director for our Philadelphia office. She began her career at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide/Mindshare in New York City, where she was a Broadcast Account Executive responsible for multiple consumer accounts such as Hershey Chocolate USA and Cotton Inc. Before joining CMI, Alya worked at GlaxoSmithKline as a Sourcing Group Manager in Procurement. She currently manages the GlaxoSmithKline and Shire accounts, and received the HBA "Rising Star" Award in 2007.

Jim Woodland
Executive Director, Interactive and New Ventures

Jim began his career in management consulting before joining CMI in 2004 in an operations capacity. While in that role, he was responsible for the management of the Finance Department, Treasury, and all financial reporting to the CMI Management Team. He is currently charged with corporate venture development, and is responsible for the management of the cmi | interactive Division of CMI.

Jim holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from St. Joseph's University (Philadelphia, PA), and is currently pursuing an MBA at the Stern School of Business at New York University (NYU).

Eugene Lee
Executive Director, Media Development & Research Analytics

Eugene has served in a series of increasingly responsible roles since joining CMI in 1994…ranging from Media Assistant to Account Management. In his current role as Executive Director, Media Development & Research Analytics, he is responsible for identifying and creating new and innovative media opportunities that serve the ever-changing needs of CMI clients…as well as the internal management of all available information related to media measurement, research, analytics, and related metrics. Eugene is deeply involved with the interactive division of CMI (cmi | interactive) where his skills and knowledge are applied to our clients’ interactive needs…focusing on the media channel neutrality and full media integration approach that are hallmarks of our organization.
