Stan Woodland
Chief Executive Officer

My career in the pharmaceutical industry began more than 30 years ago as a highly motivated media planner for Media-Chek and SmithKline Beecham (now GSK). As a lifelong entrepreneur, I soon realized that the complex and growing healthcare industry needed an organization that specialized in pharmaceutical media planning and buying. So in 1989, I founded Communications Media, Incorporated (CMI).

Because of the ever-changing dynamics of the pharmaceutical and healthcare marketplace, I enjoy investing in new capabilities to serve the evolving needs of our clients and their brands. To cater to the vastly different needs within media planning and buying, I launched a separate but related organization, Compas, to provide our clients with leveraged media buying expertise.

Seeing the opportunity to offer more specialized services for our clients, I expanded the CMI network to include a promotional fulfillment warehouse, a global reprint service, and a full-service Information Technology division. Most recently, I added an award-winning creative digital agency, to expand our organization’s ability to execute a complete promotional plan for our clients—from media strategy to creative design.

As CEO, my goal is to foster a corporate culture that demonstrates innovation and excellence—both personal and professional. In addition to my personal visions and dreams, I actively support those of our employees by helping them develop business plans of their own.
